Welcome to my page!  I started my career in mental health services almost 10 years ago after having spent a decade in child welfare services. It was way before that when my interest peaked in mental health  therapy and  when I felt a desire, or should I say a passionate need to learn why I felt my life wasn't where I thought it should be. There were some obvious reasons, and some very unconscious, self-defeating ones as well. It was within my own work that my passion grew to help others.

I'm not your typical "talk therapist". I  specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Somatic Experiencing® and passionately believe and have seen for myself how our old "stuff", whether conscious or not, can affect our present. Even as or more importantly is how our "stuff" (that we may or may not know about!) can and does impact how our body feels and functions!

With that I said, I've developed a passion in integrating working with what our body is physically experiencing while processing traumas and triggers from our daily lives. As a result of such, I have taken it up on myself to learn at a deeper level about how our bodies react in so many somatic ways. I am learning about this through my work with the Somatic Experiencing® International, as an Intermediate level student. Our bodies hold so much and I am investing in doing this work, both on a personal and professional level!

I truly believe that it is through such work that we learn to listen to what our body and mind are trying to tell us.  When we do this is when we can really create meaningful, lasting change in our own lives, that includes learning to feel alive and present.
